مشاهدة النسخة كاملة : let's share our experience "Moroccan classrooms
.Nobody denies the importance of ******** teaching and learning literature
it is in fact the result of a long period of work paralleled by research in the field. In order to benefit from this vast experience, I suggest that we dicuss in this space,as dedicated to the English ********, the themes, subjcts, problems, constraints, hindrances that we face in our classrooms.
I think that in order to be more practical we have to talk here about and highlight the phenomena that have either bad or good effects on the teaching and learning process in our Moroccan classrooms.
I hope that my suggestion will be taken into consideration
Happy Ramadan
Thank you

Hello dear colleagues.Iam a junior high school teacher in Taroudant delagation. I think that going beyong the text book is of paramount importance since there are many activities and exercises that do not go in parallel with the level of students.Morover, the teacher should enrich his classroom by games, songs and activites that enable students to learn the ******** through fun. Actually, I try to include them from time to time.
Hello dear teachers,
I am a trainee english teacher, hoping that i will find a place among you teachers and viewers. In addition, i would like to receive your advice as well as everything realated to english teaching.
so thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for raising this issue. Personally, as a Junior High School teacher, i have noticed that our textbooks do not take into account the level of the Moroccan student. The textbook itself is not helpful owing to the fact that the content of most of those textbooks are taken from another British or American textbook. In this case, we cannot rely on these textbooks. Simultaneously, we should pay attention to the needs of our students. Thank you
It's a great edia way not
Hi dear teachers of English,
As far as GBT is concerned, I personally think that it's up to the teacher to decide whether to
replace, add, supplement or keep the textbook as it is.
That's to say, we should not go beyond the textbook for the sake of going beyond it, but there should be a reason and a need for that rising from the classroom context itself.
I have a question related to the same topic;
Don't you find the textbooks – especially Focus— too fragmented because of its short activities?
How to deal with that? Thanks in advance, if you can present down-to-earth suggestions.

Personally, I believe that the teacher is not supposed to rely just on the textbook. the latter is designed just to guide teachers and not to depend totally on it. Furthermore, the textbook, either Focus or Horizons, are not ample because of the level of Moroccan students. To illustrate this point, the level of students in Rabat is not the same compared with that of students in Benimilal, as an example. In this case, the teacher is supposed to find some other alternatives.

Yeeeees of course
a text book is used only as a reference my opinion is when u know the level of your students u can know which extra activities they need songs and games
a text book is to be used as a reference but in my opinion once u know the level of your students u can use other activities to reinforce their skills; games and songs are my favourites, pair work or collective work may seem noisy in the class room but is really useful if the teacher can check all the groups, i recommend a free session from time to time to give opportunity to the students to talk freely yet the teacher should always intervene to translate into english, i already experienced some of these methods and they give good results
Textbooks are just a starter one should try to go beyond.
They are suggested for the sake of providing students with common worksheets to work on.
So if a teacher can photocopy better reliable worksheets for all students, nobody will interfere as far as the teacher knows that his or her preparation is better than what is suggested in scheduled textbooks.
This also avoids monotony, cheating from previous years answered school books, and gives more importance to the teacher in students' eyes.
Good luck to EFL teachers; you're doing well whatever is said, comparing to some other matters and their teachers.
