ولد الطيب محمد صالح أحمد في مركز مروى ،
المديرية الشمالية السودان عام 1929.
* تلقى تعليمه في وادي سيدنا وفي كلية العلوم في الخرطوم.
* مارس التدريس ثم عمل في الإذاعة البريطانية في لندن .
* نال شهادة في الشؤون الدولية في إنكلترا ، وشغل منصب ممثل اليونسكو في دول الخليج ومقره قطر في الفترة 1984 - 1989 .
* صدر حوله مؤلف بعنوان " الطيب صالح عبقري الرواية العربية " لمجموعة من الباحثين في بيروت عام 1976.
