i've been working with focus for three years now.to tell the truth, it also lacks organization. and it is very limited. anyway, the text book is not a holy book and you are wrong if you think that you can only abide by it. it is good to use it as an outline but you'll have to bring other materials (VAs/ activities/flash cards ........) to make your lesson successful. there is also a problem in the order of the lessons; all the units start with communication whereas it would be better if we start with vocabulary and then move to communication

why don't we share activities that we can use in our classrooms

Thanks for your thoughts. I personally find myself relying very often on Focus to make up for the deficiensies in Horizon. I hope to hear from as many teachers as possible to try to list all the deficiencies. This list may be used for reconsidering the textbook or for future amendement |
