Carried away by her ecstasy of the tales she had been telling, Shahrazad went on talking, while Shahrayar was lying down, throwing his hand on his moustache to hide his overtaking sleepiness. Behind the curtains was a slave hiding, overhearing the captivating tale. All of a sudden, the scene was interrupted by some noise… Shahrazad did not know when Shahrayar fell asleep… and Shahrayar himself did not take notice of the morning when it broke, and brought Shahrazad’s captivating tale into conclusion. She left him asleep, and went in search for the slave who had suddenly vanished
