advise and advice
The difference between the two words advice and advise lies in the fact that the first is a noun; whereas the latter is a verb. We say, for example, -He offered me some advice on which robot to buy –noun- -I advise you to see a doctor as soon as possible–verb- Again, I want to draw the readers' attention to the fact that the word "advice' is an uncountable noun, and if we want to use it as a singular noun we say 'a piece of advice Example: Can you give me a piece of advice, please? |
