e.g. She hopes to go to university next year.
Wish: 1 to want a particular situation to exist, when this is impossible either at this moment or at any other time.
e.g. ---- I wish that I had never met you.
---- I wish I were a bird.
2 to hope that someone will have something, expressed as a greeting.
e.g. ---- We wish you good luck.
